This is our last day at Camp Atterbury and our routine remained about the same. Doreen got us caught up on laundry since the machines here are no charge. I flushed our tanks, took on some fresh water, and stowed hoses before departing here tomorrow morning.
We headed off-post for a bit to fill the big ol' brown truck with diesel; stop at the local grocery store to replenish the pantry and fridge, and grab some lunch in town. During one of our previous stays here it was suggested for us to check out the Edinburgh Diner. I remember eating there but I did not remember what the big deal was.... until we arrived!
While I could not find the exact history of the Diner, I do know the building used to be a Dairy Queen. This Diner's claim to fame is it's massive breaded port tenderloin! It is served on a comically normal-sized hamburger bun which is dwarfed by the size of the humongous 16 ounce slab of tenderloin. While the general pork tenderloin sandwich was originally invented in 1904 at Nick's Kitchen in Huntington, Indiana, the Edinburgh Diner took the concept to absolute extremes.
Doreen's iPhone 16 compared to the Edinburgh Diner's pork tenderloin!
So we ordered one with an extra bun and just one order of fries. It came with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, catsup and mustard, We each cut off a piece and created our own sandwich, and we still had well over half of it to take back to the camper!!
After lunch we stopped by the grocery store, the fuel station and then back to the campground. Since grandson Calvin's baseball team won both games yesterday they were the number 2 seed for today's games. Well, they swept them both and won the whole enchilada! Nicely done, lads!

Tomorrow we pull chocks and head north past Indianapolis to Elkhart IN, just over 200 miles. We will be camping at the Elkhart Campground from tomorrow (Monday) until Saturday morning when we will move to the Elkhart County 4H Fairgrounds Campground and start the set-up process for the 7th Annual Alliance Rally. The stay at Elkhart the week prior is kind of a pre-rally where we will meet up with Alliance friends from all over the country who are here for the rally. It is a lot of fun.
Next report from the Elkhart Campground!
Thanks for following along!
